    Rhymes are fun and are very useful in helping children to break words up into component sounds, an important step in reading. Rhyming dictionaries can help find rhymes you may not be able to think of.
    A thesaurus can be an important tool in helping a child to learn new words and word groups.
    A bilingual dictionary might be useful if it the child is likely to know the word in the other language.
