Karen's recipe for the "nests"
(actually called Haystacks):
Melt the following in the microwave for 1-2 minutes: 1 6-oz bag of
semisweet chocolate chips 1 10-oz bag of peanut butter chips.
Stir in 1 tsp vanilla, 4 cups crispy chow mein noodles (out of a
can), and 1 cup cocktail peanuts. Shape into nests on waxed paper and
chill.
For the "eggs" in the nest, make chocolate truffles from your
favorite recipe. Instead of making them round, make egg shapes no more
than 1" long. Melt some white chocolate and dip the egg-shaped truffles
in it to coat. chill on waxed paper. Finally, dot the "eggs" with blue
food coloring using a small brush. Put the "eggs" in the "nests." |
