Patti Price has over 20 years experience in developing and transferring speech and language technology, including the founding of three companies. Her various publications and invited talks and patents show the depth and breadth of her expertise.

Her formal education includes postdoctoral training in electrical engineering at MIT, a PhD in linguistics from the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in French literature from the University of Poitiers.

Patti Price founded PPRICE Speech and Language Technology in 2001. Clients include large companies (Samsung, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard, France Telecom, SRI) and their spinoff companies; universities (Carnegie Mellon University, University of California Los Angeles and Berkeley) and spinoffs; small companies (Ordinate, ReadyGo, Shalon Ventures, Mod9, think3); law firms and the U.S. government.

She co-founded BravoBrava! where she served as COO and VP of Business Development, and helped plan an d launch SUP Inc. (now Soliloquy Learning, owned by Scientific Learning).

She spent 12 years at SRI International, where she was the director of the Speech Technology and Research Lab . There she supervised the creation and transition of technology including the co-founding of Nuance Communications. She also developed and led a Technology Reinvestment Program to commercialize language education software.

She has also worked at Bolt, Beranek and Newman (now a part of Raytheon), and at the France Telecom (now Orange) research center, CNET, Lannion, France (1984). She has served on the board of AVIOS (Applied Voice Input/Output Society) and has twice been an invited speaker at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She has been a reviewer for numerous publications, conferences and government grants. She volunteers at Reading Partners and at the Boys and Girls Club.
